Top Three Wintry Dog Walks on The Lizard

Isn’t it great when you can take your pooch with you on your travels! Dog-friendly hotels, pubs, walks and beaches help holidaying with your favourite friend an absolute breeze.

There are some amazing dog walks on the Lizard in Cornwall, some a mere step from our hotel, and they’re particularly peaceful and picturesque in the winter. So why not pop along and try them for yourself?

To give you some guidance, we’ve put together our top three wintry dog walks on the Lizard. We’ve also created a dog walking holiday for those of you with four-legged friends who are keen to escape the chill at home. Walkies, anyone?

Mullion & Poldhu Wintry Wrap-up Dog Walk

Grasp your mittens and lead and strike out on this picturesque 2.6 mile walk that takes you from Mullion town, through rural fields and towards Mullion Cove – right on our doorstep. There are plenty of cormorants, black-headed gulls and kittiwakes to spot along the way.

Following the South West Coast Path here brings you to Polurrian Cove which offers plenty of space for Rover to stretch his legs on the beach.

A Canine Cut from Church Cove to Cadgwith

For those of you wanting to trek something a little more challenging, this 6.1 mile walk is perfect for more active dogs and owners. Don’t worry, there are shortcuts too if the going gets a little tough! Just be prepared for lots of ascents and descents.

There are many points of interest on this walk so take a while to enjoy it, but make sure you keep a tight leash around steep cliff edges.

Pooch Track Paradise at Porthallow & Nare Point

If you fancy a moderate stroll then the 4.4 mile jaunt from Porthallow Beach and back again is ideal. There’s a nice mix of heathland, grassland and woodland for dogs to explore. Just remember to pack a towel to rub down muddy paws.

There’s a terrific watering hole at the end of this walk at Porthallow Beach Cafe, which is also dog-friendly.
