Padstow May Day (‘Obby Oss’ Day

This is the biggest day in Padstow’s calendar when it is not unsual for the town to have 30,000 visitors. The origins of this traditional celebration are lost in the midst of time but is thought to celebrate the arrival of Spring and it may even be an ancient fertility festival!

2014 Tall Ships Regatta

Falmouth has been confirmed as the first host port of the 2014 Tall Ships Regatta, which will see the event return to the town for the first time since 2008.  Up to 50 ships will be berthed at Queens Wharf in Falmouth Docks for three days of festivities between 28-31 August when they will be open to the public. Training vessels and tall ships from around the world will take part in competitive racing over three days before heading to Greenwich, London
