What the papers say

We have attracted some very positive publicity down here in South Cornwall over the last couple of years. Not least from our reviews on the Tripadvisor website ( www.TripAdvisor.co.uk ) – where guests leave feedback about their real life experiences of holiday destinations from around the world.  MCH currently holds a 96% rating from the reviewers that really matter!

Here are some of our favourite pieces in the printed press:

Cornwall Life magazine – August 2008

Cliff-top Class

The Mullion Cove Hotel has undergone a recent transformation.
The imposing building is a crisp, white example of Victorian architecture, which overlooks the rugged cliffs and working harbour below. Beyond lies the uninterrupted expanse of Mount’s Bay, with the outline of St Michael’s Mount in the distance. A popular stop on the coastal path, a steady stream of walkers pause here to take in the spectacular view, many enjoying refreshment in the hotel’s Cove Bistro.

There is a classic style and antique touches in the hotel’s design that give out a warm and comfortable ambience. The lounge with its floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the outdoor pool is a wonderful place to relax. The bedrooms have a combination of sumptuous classic style, fine quality furniture and modest touches.”

Western Morning News Travel section – January 2010

Mullion Cove Hotel, white and glinting on the cliff top, is aptly described by its owners as being ‘in a world of its own’.
The Windows frame views of the sea of such clear emerald that it resembles a Pacific island paradise. The Mullion Cove Hotel is a marvellous base for exploring the many attractions of the region, or simply taking a romantic break and just chilling out.

Saturday Telegraph – 18th August 2007

A piece written by Paddy Burt: the Telegraph’s eminent doyenne of hotel reviewers. We were paid an anonymous visit in July – the first we knew about it was when we read (hands trembling!) the article that Saturday morning:
‘Although not overly enamoured with the bedroom décor, staff proved a big hit – especially Marek: ‘wow – what charm’…and the pony tailed waitress serve ‘with a smile’ and the food ‘looks good and, more often than not, tastes good’ and proves ‘most enjoyable’….Praise indeed!

Sunday Times – 10th June 2007
Britain’s Favourite View?
An article advocating the delights of spending summer in Britain – Britain’s Best 50 Days Out.
Mullion Cove Hotel makes an appearance as number 28. The writers proclaim the hotel rooms boast ‘Staggering sea views’ with ‘vistas northwest as far as St Michael’s Mount and South as far as Predannack Head.’ However, they do insert the caveat that the views are sometimes ‘interrupted by the odd passing Mackerel trawler.’ Britain’s Favourite View?....We think so.
