These four night courses are for guests of all levels to learn the basics or for advanced photographers to improve their skills particularly those with an interest in landscape photography. 

The Mullion Cove Hotel is the perfect location for photography courses, with stunning views from its cliff top position, it is within walking distance of coves and beaches, which in sunny or stormy weather can provide fantastic opportunities for creating superb images.

Price includes: Personal daily tuition by Simon Green, presentations and discussions, welcome drinks reception, dinner bed and breakfast for four nights in a twin or double room and VAT @ 17.5%.

Price does not include: Transport to Photographic Venues on the Lizard chosen by Simon Green. Guests are required to arrange their own transport in their own vehicles please with car share on location a popular option amongst guests.

Course Information:
Led by Simon Green, the course will be relaxed but comprehensive. The content will largely be dictated by those attending. It will include both workshops in the Hotel, and fieldwork in Mullion Cove, but also visits to further a-field

The aim of the course is for those attending to improve their knowledge, to put it into practice and to leave with finished images. The courses will include tuition in exposure, composition and image editing, discussions and presentations at the hotel and photography on location in West Cornwall. To catch the best of the Cornish light, the courses will include early morning shoots in the local area for those that want to attend.

On the first evening participants are invited to join Simon for a Welcome Drinks Reception and “Ice- breaker” Session at 6.30 pm, followed by dinner giving everyone the chance to get to know one another and what our customers are looking to gain from attending the course

No experience of digital photography is required but the following Minimum equipment is needed.

  • A Digital SLR or Bridge Camera with its Instruction Manual, batteries and charger.

  • Memory Cards

  • A tripod is not essential but useful

  • Comfortable walking footwear

  • Warm outdoor clothing

Simon Green was born in 1973 and although travelled throughout his childhood was brought up in Consett in the North East of England. Simon originally trained as a chef at Derwentside College and Blackpool and the Fylde College.

In 1993 Simon joined the British Army and served with the Royal Green Jackets and travelled to Cyprus, Jordan, Bosnia, Egypt, Israel, the Falkland Islands.
Simon was recommended for special duties in Northern Ireland where photography became a big part of his life. He then retrained as an Army photographer and became a surveillance photography instructor for special forces and security services.
Simon also served in Whitehall as a Press and PR Photographer for the Army where his duties included photographing HRH the Queen and Prince Philip.

Simon left the Army in 2002 to work as a freelance photographer and through his wedding and fashion photography has quickly gained a reputation for creating beautiful, dynamic and stylish images. Simon’s wide and varied experience and technical knowledge enable him to get the most out of his subjects.

Simon has been awarded over 60 merits and awards including 2007 BIPP Western region Advertising Photographer of the Year, 2006 SWPP Landscape photographer of the Year, BPPA 2008 Award of Excellence in Fashion Photography and is an Associate of the British Institute of Professional photography.

He regularly teaches, mentors and advises on photography. His clients include BBC, Channel 4, National Magazine Company, The Financial Times, WED magazine.
