Covid-19 Fact Sheet
We are all looking forward to welcoming you to Mullion Cove and we understand that many of you may have some apprehension about your visit so, for the sake of clarity and your peace of mind, we have put together the following document to inform you of the measures we have put in place ready for your stay.
We have been busy assessing our hotel operations and making certain adaptations to the offering in the interests of keeping us all as safe as possible. We have been doing this with the aim of still providing the high level of service and that special brand of hospitality that our valued guests rightly expect and deserve.
So, a few general points to start:
- We would ask you take the time to read and digest this factsheet and contact us if you have any concerns.
- It is preffered that masks are worn in public areas
- We will continue to provide sanitiser stations around the hotel which we encourage you to continue using.
- There may still be a few COVID prevention measures present around the hotel such as screens and staff wearing masks and we ask for your understanding.
The Hotel Team
All team members will be washing their hands (or using hand sanitiser) at least every 20 minutes from the moment they arrive at work.
- Staff continue to use wear masks whist performing their duties. We ask for your understanding as our main priority will be to continue to keep everybody as safe as possible.
- The team will follow a policy of no physical contact and maintain social distancing, wherever possible.... please do not think we are being impolite!
- All of our hotel teams have undergone comprehensive hospitality-focused training on how to prevent the contagion of Covid-19. We will continue to evaluate our training as best practices evolve.
- Any staff member who shows symptoms will be told stay at home and will be required to self-isolate for 14 days prior to returning to work.
Booking & Pre-arrival
We will call you a week prior to your arrival to confirm and double-check all the details of your stay to obtain any information we need from you to enable us to check you in as quickly and efficiently as we can when you do arrive. It is very important that we have a full and detailed understanding of your specific requirements particularly with regards to bedroom configurations and allergies at this point. We can also answer any further queries you may have regarding our safety plans.
Upon arrival we will continue to try to keep contact as minimal as possible and it will handy be to have your estimated time of arrival so we can control the number of guests checking in at one time.
Your arrival forms will be pre-populated and will be presented for a signature under the reception screen. There are plenty of hand sanitisers around the building and we ask you to use these as often as possible and especially on arrival and prior checking in.
Should you require assistance from reception during your stay, then please call from your room to avoid gatherings at reception.
Masks
We will not be insisting that guests wear masks. This, to us, would be inhospitable and against one of our core values, however, it is preffered. Some guests may be vulnerable themselves and so we ask that others who do not wish to wear a mask respect this and perhaps give them a little extra space or stand aside as they pass.
We will be asking our staff to continue to wear a face mask in order to reassure people that we are continuing to take customer and staff safety and well-being as a priority.
Public Areas
Our public areas such as the lounges, restaurants, foyer and bar have been returned to their pre-covid configuration.
Disposable masks are available at reception and at the bar.
All screens, door handles and shared surfaces ("touch points") will continue to be extensively cleaned and sanitised throughout the day. We have enhanced our cleaning procedures and are increasing personnel in our housekeeping teams to manage with the extra processes.
We have equipped our cloakrooms with sanitising hand wash at the basins, as well as contact-free hand dryers and disposable hand towels. To avoid overcrowding and unnecessary contact we continue ask that guests who are staying with us - where possible - use the bathrooms in their bedrooms.
Signage has been put in place with guidance on usage of our lift. You are welcome to use the lifts and we will ensure they are regularly sanitised but please follow the advice provided.
Food & Drink
During dinner service our restaurant and bar are currently available to hotel and apartment residents only.
You will be designated a table for the duration of your stay – Here we will serve you all meals you wish to take with us. Dining times for dinner will be agreed with you during your guest relations call prior to arrival. We respectfully request that guests endeavour to adhere to times to ensure flow and guest safety at all times. We will continue to ask you to sanitise your hands when you arrive at the restaurant.
We will try our upmost to provide you with the very best service that we can and in order to do so we have had to make the following adjustments:
Dinner: Should you wish to take dinner with us please book a time with reception during your pre-arrival guest relations call or by calling reception from your room.
Dinner will be served either in the Restaurant unless you wish to book a table in the Bar.
The Restaurant and Bistro will continue operate a table service and we ask you not to approach the bar.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
Each room has been cleaned and sanitised prior to your arrival - this may take a little longer than normal, so we ask for your patience if your room is not ready by 3pm.
Our aim is to ensure the safest environment possible for you. However, in order to give you further peace of mind, in each room you will find a basket of additional cleaning products which include antiviral sanitiser, disposable paper towels (please use the bin not the loo for disposal) biodegradable bags for any wet items you wish to take home with you and small bottles of hand sanitiser for you to take with you if you require it. There is also antiviral hand soap in your bathroom for you to wash your hands as regularly as you wish.
Daily room servicing by our housekeeping team has been reinstated. However, rooms will need to be vacant and personal items including toiletries stowed away.
The hotel compendium has now moved online and can be found here. We can also email this to you or provide a printed copy on arrival if you require one. You can also download our app proir to arrival. Click here for Apple and here for andriod.
