Cornwall: The Lizard
Chase the light across Cornwall's breathtaking Lizard Peninsula on this three-day photography workshop with William Gray, focusing on iconic locations like Kynance Cove, Mullion and Lizard Point, as well as plenty of hidden gems along its wave-gnawed coastline.
Riddled with coves, creeks and fishing hamlets, the Lizard's crinkle-cut coast is a treasure chest for photographers. As the author of the guidebook Cornwall with Kids, it's an area that I know and love. On this three-day workshop, based at one of the Lizard's finest coastal hotels, we will set out to photograph spectacular seascapes, reacting to the ever-changing light that plays across the peninsula. It's the perfect location to hone your landscape photography skills.
As well as getting to grips with essentials like composition, exposure, depth-of-field and viewpoint, we will also explore details, patterns in nature and creative ways of using filters. We'll get up early to catch the dawn and photograph until dusk – maybe even trying a spot of night photography too!
As with all of my photography workshops, the small group size of just three participants enables me to give you plenty of individual time, no matter what your photographic interests or level of experience. Key locations will include Kynance Cove, Mullion Cove, Lizard Point and Cadgwith Cove, plus several lesser-known spots. There will also be time for a tutorial on post-processing using Lightroom, as well as a constructive, professional critique session of your photographs. I hope you can join me on what promises to be a fun and inspiring few days in the remote Southwest!
